I am Harry’s mum, the chair of Harry’s Promise. The day Harry came into the world I knew he was going to do something special. It has been an honour and a pleasure to watch Harry grow up to be the kindest, most selfless human I have ever known. He was so excited to start his journey at the University of Hull on the social work course. He would update me all the time, especially when he started his placement. He wanted to work with children and young people who were in social care. Harry was excited to qualify and go out and make a difference.
Sadly, Harry’s life took a different journey when fell asleep forever in Hull, but he went on the most amazing journey of his life, donating his organs. This charity was set up to help Harry become the Social Worker he was always meant to be. As a former teacher and now a support worker supporting and helping young people, helping them to identify and reach their aspirations is important to me. I always saw the potential in him as he was growing up, and love to see the potential in other young people grow and flourish. Creating a community where young people have a voice that is heard and have someone to champion their endeavors is at my heart.
